These lists of active facilities are updated periodically when new facilities open or existing facilities close.

Data Files

The data files in the following list are refreshed each Friday morning:

• msw-facilities-texas.xls — A spreadsheet listing issued or acknowledged permits and other authorizations as well as pending applications for MSW landfills and processing facilities that are active, inactive, or not yet constructed. Data fields include facility name and type; permit, registration, or notification number; authorization status; facility physical status; and location information. • msw-closed-facilities-texas.xls — A spreadsheet listing issued or acknowledged permits and other authorizations for MSW landfills and processing facilities that have closed. Data fields include facility name and type; permit, registration, or notification number; authorization status; facility physical status; and location information. See GI-613, Explanation of Municipal Solid Waste Data Fields for more information.
• msw-revoked-or-not-issued-texas.xls — A spreadsheet listing revoked permits and other authorizations for MSW landfills and processing facilities, and applications that were withdrawn, returned, or denied. Data fields include facility name and type; permit, registration, or notification number; authorization status; facility physical status; and location information.   Compilations of data reported annually by municipal solid waste processing and disposal facilities, used in assessment and planning for the management of solid wastes in Texas.

Historical Information About Municipal Solid Waste Facilities

The data file listed below contains historical information that is not updated:

• msw-unum-texas.xlsx — A spreadsheet of historical information listing old, closed unnumbered MSW landfills that were operated before permits were required, as well as unauthorized landfills and miscellaneous illegal dumps and disposal sites.
